Erik Beach

Erik Beach has several years of programming experience in a number of languages, libraries and tools and continues to add more every day.

As part of the Lakey and Associates team currently working with Lakewood Church in Houston, TX, Erik loves coming up with programming and other solutions to problems unique to one of the largest churches in the nation.  He works with nearly every layer of Lakewood’s technology stack, from editing and styling user-facing web sites, to maintaining and expanding the custom ERP solution L&A developed, which Lakewood uses to manage millions of contacts and orders.

At Enlyten, a nutricutical direct sales company, Erik was the Chief Technical Officer, charged with providing technical solutions to allow thousands of independent sales reps in the field to operate their business smoothly.  He used his front end design and code skills to build and customize web applications to allow reps to manage their sales data to accurately track their progress in the organization.

Erik was the lead programmer at National Hall of Records, an online memorial site.  At NHOR, Erik developed a system to allow loved ones to search over 8 million obituary records and quickly locate their loved ones records in miliseconds.  He also performed desktop support functions allowing dozens of support and sales staff to perform their duties free of computer issues.

As part of the team at Internet Yellow Pages, Erik utilized advanced indexing and search technologies like Apache Solr to allow site users to perform quick and accurate searches for millions of businesses across the United States.  Erik also created a self service platform to allow directory customers to directly update their information in real time to be more easily found by potential customers.

After graduating in 2001 from the University of Tulsa with a BS degree in Computer Science, Erik began his profession with The Hertz Corporation writing software used by operators in rental facilities around the world.  At Hertz, Erik quickly won the respect of his mentors and peers and was invited to be a member of the architecture team, where he was tasked with conducting peer code reviews, teaching software development methods, and working out solutions to overarching technical concerns.
